With fully Integrated & 100% in-house production facility we are able to Internally controlled workmanship for alloying, rolling blade, head bar tinning and casting, welding, cutting & packaging.

Although anodes are manufactured to client’s designs, with each stage of manufacture using the best quality raw materials and controlled by a strict quality process system, anodes are produced efficiently and consistently within estimated time.

Anodes made of lead alloys are used in the electrowinning and plating of metals such as manganese, copper, nickel, and zinc.

• Rolled lead-calcium-tin and lead antimony alloys are the preferred anode materials in these applications, because of their high resistance to corrosion in the sulfuric acid used in electrolytic solutions. Lead anodes also have high resistance to corrosion by seawater, making them economical to use in systems for the cathodic protection of ships and offshore rigs.


• Rolled lead anodes have become the industry benchmark with the benefits of fine grain structure, less segregation and elimination of cracks and voids resulting in more uniform corrosion of the anode.

The shape and size of the copper bar and the anode plate are made to customer specifications

• The copper bar is tin-plated and then given a homogeneous coat of lead several millimeters thick as protection from corrosion caused by aggressive acid mist. This method of protecting the anode bar also ensures the best possible bond between lead and copper for improved current flow and long service life.

Chemical Composition

• The lead anodes are manufactured in calcium-tin-lead (Ca/Sn/Pb), antimonial lead (Sb/Pb) and silver-lead (Ag/Pb) alloys which are the preferred alloys for these applications with their high resistance to corrosion in the sulphuric acid based electrolyte solutions.


• Lead anode alloys generally consist of tin, Calcium, and Antimony. The favoured alloys, based on the specific application, are lead- antimony as well as lead-Calcium-Tin alloys. One reason for this is because of the alloys’ resistance to corrosion in the sulfuric acid that’s used for electrolytic solutions. (Lead-alloy anodes are used in electro winning – also known as electro extraction – as well as for plating metals such as manganese, copper, nickel, and zinc.) Lead anodes have superior attributes, such as being highly resistant to the corrosive effects of seawater.

Packing
The finished anodes are packed together in wooden pallets with thick thermocol in between each Anode to prevent the individual anodes from bending.

Do's & Dont;'s
Remember, proper care of anodes will pay off in longer life. Try these suggestions with new Republic anodes.

• Do not leave new anode in chromium solution when tank is idle. Instead, remove them and place them in clean water after use until a uniform brown film of lead peroxide is formed on the surface.


• Do not confuse this dark brown lead peroxide coating with lead chromate. Lead chromate (PbCrO4) is yellow in color and acts as an insulation. This should be removed in order to restore the anode to the most efficient service level.


• We recommend that approximately two inches of lead anode be above the solution level at all times.


• We do not recommend mixing old and new anodes together. Adding new anodes intermittently in order to obtain amperage needed could result in new anodes scaling up very rapidly. If it is not practical to replace all anodes at one time, we suggest extreme care be given to the new anodes to assure proper breaking in for efficient performance.

Various alloys are available from pure at 99.97% through various copper, tin and antimony alloys in varying percentages. The low melting temperature of lead, high density, corrosion-resistance, malleability and relative low cost make it attractive for use in many applications.

Composition
Lead Pipe is made from either Chemical Pure Lead 99.97% or up to 6%  Lead Antimony Alloy.

Applications

• Lead pipes are still used in industry today because of the properties of lead that include malleability, flexibility and resistance to corrosion. Typical applications include chemical plants, nuclear plants, paper manufacturing plants and Hydro and plating applications.


• Lead pipes are used in pulp and paper industry in cooling systems which use sulphur dioxide gases and in transporting the bleaching stock which uses hydrogen peroxide or zinc hydrosulphite and for draining the discharge from the pulp digesters.


• Other applications for Lead Pipes are for Soil Waste, Ventilating, and telephone and telegraph underground piping, pressure tubes (copper lead) and cable sheathing.

Packing
The lead pipe are packed in wooden caret box for most of the time to avoid pipe from bending, also lead pipe is packed in grass with Bardan.

Storage

• Lead is one of the heaviest metals in use in the modern world. Care must be taken to ensure that if lead pipe is stored above ground level, the means of storage is strong enough to accept the weight of the product.


• Irrespective of the method of storage, lead pipe must be kept in a dry environment until the application phase to ensure that no unsightly staining can occur if the storage area is damp.

Handling

• Lead is a soft heavy metal this brings advantages during application but caution must be exercised in handling. Lift with Proper lifting equipment - seek assistance where necessary.

Lead wires are used in two distinct industry: Oil Platform Construction and Fishing. Big size lead wire on wooden reels are used to balance oil platforms in the sea. Small size lead wires are used in fishing into the ropes.

We can Fabricate Lead Bricks (cast interlocked bricks or extruded straight bricks) used in various radioactive shielding applications.
Available as straight or interlocking chevron-type in a wide range of sizes, thicknesses and shapes to suit your application. - Lead bricks offer maximum protection against x-ray beta and gamma radiation - straight lead bricks can be cut on size in any direction without the fear of losing the interlocking capability.

Lead Bricks are available in a wide range of sizes, thicknesses and shapes to suit your application. They are commonly used for shielding when sheet lead is impractical or not available in sizes or thicknesses you may require. Straight or interlocking styles are available as per your drawing/sample/photos.

Composition
Cast from pure high quality lead or Antimonial Lead our lead bricks are ideal where maximum protection is required from X-Ray and Gamma Ray radiation.
The purpose of antimony is to grant hardness to bricks, so that constructions are stable, and avoid deformities in case of impacts during construction.
There are other possible compositions according to our client’s requirements.

Multi-purpose lead seals used in conjunction with sealing wire for industrial applications.
The Lead seal is a round lead seal product which is used in conjunction with any length of pre-cut or rolls of various wire types. Sealing pliers are required to clamp the lead seal to prevent slippage. The pliers can be used in conjunction with a customized die for a bespoke sealing solution.

The Round Lead Seals is designed with two parallel holes and a knot chamber. During fitting the wire or string is threaded through the two parallel holes of the lead seals and crossed inside the knot chamber before closing with the sealing tool to prevent slippage.

Lead wool consists of thin strands of lead and is primarily used as caulking to seal joints between lead and steel fittings. It is also a major component in the manufacture of gas sensors.

This lead seal is economical and easy to use
Indeed, you simply have to insert the ends of a wire from our sealing wire reel in a pill-like seal and then crush it using our sealing pliers. For further security you can also engrave these pill-like seals with the help of special pliers.

Cast to customer specification, and used in applications such as the manufacture/refurbishment of passenger elevators/lifts, crane and hoist weights.

Available in a range of sizes, lead pellets are suitable for packing air space when used in conjunction with lead ingots, or as a standalone ballast material. Lead pellets can be used for ballasting models or filling dive weight pouches. Lead pellets can be supplied bagged in specific weights to suit customer, or in standard 20kg bags.
